Thursday 3 October – make your own way to one of the hotels in Lake Charles, LA. We are booked into Golden Nugget for the night at a cost of $152 plus taxes. This was a AAA rate for those who have AAA. We will meet in front of the Golden Nugget Hotel at 0830/ 9am Friday morning.
Friday 4 October – plan to depart Golden Nugget at 0830/9am and head towards Baton Rouge then a scenic drive into New Orleans along Plantation Alley/ the Mississippi River.
Friday 4 and Saturday 5 October – overnight in the New Orleans Garden District at St Charles Inn, 3636 St Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115. Kevin has negotiated a group rate which includes continental breakfast and free parking of $210 per room/per night + tax. To book, please call the hotel on 504-899-8888 and let them know you are part of the Gulf Coast Fiats Group. There are 15 rooms available for the two nights for our group. The group block will be held until 1 September so book this month if you want to come. Hotel is an easy tram ride into the French Quarter and there are also some fabulous restaurants in the Garden District.
Saturday - free for everyone to do as you wish in New Orleans – perhaps a drink in the Carousel bar at Hotel Monteleone, visit the World War 2 Museum, wander around the Garden District or French Quarter, listen to some jazz or take a paddleboat down the Mississippi… The choice is yours. Possibility of group dinner Saturday night – will be able to confirm once we have a better idea of numbers and interest.

For those who wish to attend the Angola Prison Rodeo, you can reserve your $20 tickets here: http://www.angolarodeo.com/tickets/ The Rodeo doesn’t start until 1pm (gates at 8am) so the choice is yours if you wish to stay and attend.

The DFW Fiat Club – Fiat Club America is hosting our 1st Annual Bluebonnet Cruise. We are meeting at Stubbys on I-20 in south Dallas at 1100AM for lunch, then cruising down to the Buc-ees in Ennis, TX to meet up with anyone else who wishes to join is at 1PM. We will depart Buc-ees at 1:30PM to tour the bluebonnet trails in and around Ennis.
